Safety Information
At Loom we are committed to product safety, customer satisfaction and gentle, low impact production. Our yarns are sourced from sustainable and regulated sources, free from mulesing, and treated in mills and facilities to the highest environmental standards. Our yarns are intended for use in knitting, crochet and weaving and are safe for this use. We are GPSR compliant and IOSS registered.
Please note *only yarns are saleable* in EU and EEA countries at the moment. Haberdashery, fibre and books are excluded. If you are able to checkout these items, we will sadly have to contact you to refund.
Natural fibres: All of our yarns contain natural fibres, predominantly wool. Percentage fibre content is listed on every ball band and in product listings on the website.
All our yarns are accredited by OEKO-TEX Standard 100, which is an international safety standard that is certified harmless to human health. Our BFL Masham and Corriedale bases are further certified by the Responsible Wool Standard.
Flammability: Wool is naturally fire resistant and self extinguishing. Our fibres are predominantly wool, and other natural fibres, to a minimum of 75% when blended with other fibres. It's recommended to keep all yarns away from naked flames.
Dye Process: Loom is a ‘downstream user’ of chemicals and follows industry guidelines and safety precautions during the dye process. Our yarns are rinsed in warm water to ensure removal of all mordant and dye materials. Should you experience irritation from handling our yarns, please treat as contact dermatitis. See the supplier data sheets below for further information.
Care: Soak finished pieces in warm water with a mild wool wash, if needed, and lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry or iron. Keep separate on the first wash to avoid accidental colour run. Wash hands with soap and clean water in the unlikely event dye solution is transferred to skin.
