Loom | About

Welcome to Loom, a small-batch yarn company based in Somerset in the South-West of England. My name's Jess and I've been knitting and working in the fibre community for over a decade. Loom was established in 2019 and has been an evolution of inspirations and ideas from that time. I'm inspired by subtle, muted colours and a slow-paced way of life. If you're interested to see more of what goes on at Loom, you can visit us on Instagram and YouTube. You'll also find Loom on Ravelry, so please link your projects and share what you've been making!

Our Yarns
Our yarns are sourced from sustainable, cruelty-free sources and I enjoy being able to offer a range of fibres that I also love to work with, including non-superwash and nylon-free yarns. Our superwash bases are treated at plants in the UK and South-America to strict environmental standards.

Environmental impact
We strive to keep our environmental footprint to a minimum. Water usage is monitored by exhausting each dye bath fully, being economical with rinsing water and ensuring our colourways are created in an efficient way. Extracts colourways are one-of-a-kind skeins that are produced using any excess or waste dye material. They are beautiful and often surprising colours that are truly special. They serve an important purpose and I hope you enjoy incorporating them into your projects

Furthermore, our packaging is plastic-free, recyclable and biodegradable - even the free teabag!
